Don't count your eggs before they are hatched

Hello friend,

Thank you for reading this. How is your day so far? Mine is outstandingly gorgeous, got myself a new and life-changing friend.

Well, let’s begin today with not counting your eggs before they hatch.

After milking the farmer's cows, a milkmaid was carrying the pail of milk on her head to the dairy and thinking to herself, "With the cream that I shall get from this milk I can make some butter, which I'll take to market and sell. I'll buy some eggs with the money, and when hatched I'll have some chickens for a poultry yard. I can sell the poultry, and with the money I'll buy a fine gown to wear to the fair. All the young men will admire me and make advances, but I shall toss my head and dismiss them". At which, lost in her ambitious thoughts, she did toss her head, dropping the pail and the milk on the ground, dashing her dreams.

Man is a positive animal. No one has ever plan to do something to see it fail. Even though, some of our plans might look unrealistic, we still pursue it with the understanding that we are going to positively achieve it.

Our plans are like eggs, they are waiting to be hatched, we have snakes (difficulties and threats) that are everywhere waiting to swallow them. You don't have to count on the promises of your ideas, but on the reality of it. Don't day-dream about the success of an idea that is still in the pipe-line, it would only give you exaggerated hope of success and when it does not work out as planned, then there is discouragement that might make you end up throwing your ideas into the thrash-can.

The man who had the first idea to make water into a sealed nylon that we call pure-water today, planned it and carried it out and today, he can count his "hatched" eggs not unhatched ones.

When an idea is in the embroynic form, don't fantasize on the profit it is going to bring in, you will tend to lose focus and have your idea not well baked before churning it out and like every bad baked cookies, they get taste bad even though they might look so good and tasty at first.

It is very important to note that when ideas is day dreamt too much about, it would make you overlook the most vital part of that idea and create a caricature of thoughts that might end up making the reality of your idea become like building a sky-scrapper in the sky.

A boy was surfing the internet and discovered a hidden secret of how to use honey to cure skin rashes, he was so excited that he quickly printed out the page. He had planned to write an article and sell it online to his marketing list.

But by the time it came to the issue of pricing, he priced it too high, with the understanding that if I sell it at #100 to 100 persons that is #10,000 but if I sell it at the rate of #1,000 to 100 persons that is #100,000 and I would buy half plot of land and I would build a 13-room and then I would go to the internet and get another product and sell it for #1,000 to 1,000 people, I will make #1,000,000 blah blah blah.

He was lost in his thought, when from the other side a bike skidded off the road and fell him flat, only to recover and find himself in an hospital. His dream shattered because he was bedridden for close to 9 months and at a point, he didn’t even go ahead with his plan.

There is different between being ambitious and also being a day-dreamer. An ambitious person will work to achieve his dream, but a dreamer, will count his chickens before they are hatched without even thinking of losing one or two because of the obstacles every plan faces.
There is no perfect plan. Every plan must have plan B, Your plan must be thought out on a long run basis. Know the strength of your plan, the weakness of your plan, the opportunity in your plan and the threat in your plan. Once that is duly researched and you have plan B for every of it, you will have moved from the line of a day-dreamer and become one well grounded in taking every step as they come.

Those who count their eggs before they are hatched are mere day dreamers, don’t be one of them.

Don’t count your chickens before they are hatched.
